THE WEDDING CEREMONY

Viana do Castelo

If there be anyone who objects, speak now or forever hold your peace!

Certainly not! No one could object to such a grand performance! After much rehearsing and worrying and clothes’ hunting, we managed to make an enjoyable English activity, which took place on the 3rd of April at 10.30 in the school’s ‘Blue Room’. The ceremony ran smoothly and we were all proud of the students for their dedication and perseverance in wanting to do the activity as best as possible. Thanks also go to Liliana Iglesias for her nightingale’s voice and suave piano-playing; Ana Vieira’s organisation skills and Renato Cunha’s filming and photo-taking abilities.
Our main aim in organising this activity was to make the students aware of the cultural differences between the English and Portuguese cultures and, simultaneously, make something alternative to the usual curricular sessions as well as enjoyable.
Throughout the rehearsals and organisation the students behaved impeccably and took each of their roles seriously and with much responsibility. On the day itself, there were plenty of nervous wrecks but the theatre went well and they played their parts to perfection.
This was followed by a lovely photo session in our delightful gardens as well as a delicious get together around a table well-filled. The lunch ended with the wedding cake and toasts all round….with juice of course!
Well done Class 7!!
